Could you just clarify the equitation classes for me please. I understand it is for ponies that have not qualified or been to major champs like BSPS, Ponies UK etc but what if my pony qualifies for one of these champs after I have made my MIDARC champs entry? Or is it that you are not to have qualified by 1st January in the current year? I just want to be sure we aren't entering a class that we aren't eligible for.

You have got it in one. We cannot and would not want to stop HOYS or similar level competitors competing at local shows or even the Championships, asit always good to see what you need to do to improve, and usually the only way to improving in most sports is to compete against those at a higher level. However, we do recognise, that an Overall Championship is required for those who have not yet achieved those dizzy heights or have no desire to do so, and deserve to be able to compete on a level playing field, and of course you can if you have qualified, also compete in the Overall Supreme at the end of the day Hope that helps
